CVS HEALTH Corp. is laying off approximately 150 employees next month, including 70 at its Woonsocket headquarters.

WOONSOCKET – CVS Health Corp. is laying off approximately 150 employees next month, including 70 at its headquarters here, as part of an operational review, according to a company spokesman.
“We are eliminating a small number of positions at CVS Health in December 2015 in order to focus roles and resources on driving the greatest value for our business while maintaining customer satisfaction,” Mike DeAngelis, senior director, corporate communications, wrote in an email.
DeAngelis said employees affected by the decision will have the chance to apply for other positions within the company for which they may be qualified.
“Those who are not placed in other positions within the company will be eligible to receive a transition package to cover financial and health benefits, outplacement support and counseling,” he wrote.
DeAngelis said the company employs approximately 200,000 people across the country, and approximately 4,300 at the Woonsocket headquarters. It employs more than 7,000 throughout Rhode Island, he said.
