CVS takes part in Wear Red Day

WOONSOCKET – CVS Caremark Corp. is participating today in National Wear Red Day by encouraging all colleagues, including those at all 7,600 CVS/pharmacy locations across the country, to wear red and join in the nationwide effort to create awareness of the battle against heart disease in women.
CVS Caremark will be hosting heart healthy education events for their colleagues across the country, and will also be making a $10,000 donation to the American Heart Association in support of National Wear Red Day.
For more than 10 years, the American Heart Association has sponsored National Wear Red Day to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease in women.
“Heart disease continues to be the number one killer of women in the United States,” said Eileen Howard Boone, senior vice president of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy for CVS Caremark and president of the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust. “Through these efforts, we can engage our colleagues in taking action against heart disease while supporting our purpose of helping people on their path to better health in the communities where we live and work.”
CVS Caremark has a long-standing relationship with the American Heart Association, by providing volunteers and financial support.
