Kent Hospital recently presented a $25,000 donation to the American Cancer Society to support the nonprofit’s breast-cancer research, awareness and education efforts. The donation represented the final amount raised by Kent Hospital employees for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, held Oct. 30, 2011.
Jim Beardsworth, director of public relations and marketing at Kent Hospital, said, “The dedication of the Kent Hospital staff for this event year after year is really something to be proud of. The good work of the American Cancer Society allows us to support the thousands of people suffering from breast cancer, including many of our own patients.”
The check was presented by Kent Hospital President and CEO Sandra Coletta to Dawn Cormier, of the American Cancer Society. Several members of the hospital’s Coordinated Care Unit and The Breast Health Center at Kent were also in attendance.
Beardsworth added, “We will continue to support such a great cause and along with our breast-health center, work to save lives and end this disease.” •
