BOSTON – Candescent Partners, the private equity firm that purchased Koch Eye Associates in March and acquired Eye Health Vision Centers in December, has acquired South Kingstown-based Seacoast Eye Associates Inc.

Seacoast founders Drs. Barry Wepman and Mark Deresienski partnered in 2000 after practicing separately in South County for more than 20 years. According to a Candescent Partners release, “Seacoast physicians and team will continue to care for patients for many years to come.”

“Partnering with Koch Eye Associates will provide us with more resources and locations to continue to meet the vision health needs of our patients,” Wepman said in prepared remarks. Deresienski added that Seacoast was “excited to be able to join the best team in Rhode Island.”

With the addition of Seacoast’s doctors and staff to Koch Eye Associates of Rhode Island and Eye Health Vision Centers, Candescent has formed one of the largest vision health companies in New England with 13 locations and 335 employees.

“We have worked collaboratively for years with Seacoast and are happy they are joining our family of physicians,” Dr. Peter Koch, chairman of the board of Candescent Eye Management, said in a statement. “Together we will be able to provide the most innovative care to help people throughout Rhode Island to see their very best.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
