The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council will host a group canoe and kayak trip Saturday on the Woonasquatucket Reservoir, also known as Stump Pond, in Smithfield. Participants will take part in a 2-and-a-half-mile paddle on what is the largest and least developed part of the watershed. If water levels allow, the group will also paddle to the reservoir’s southern area, making the trip about 5 miles total. Participants will bring their own lunches to eat during a stop at the Mowry conservation area, located at the north end of the reservoir.
