PROVIDENCE – CareLink, a nonprofit management service organization, has become the parent organization for SAGE-RI.

SAGE-RI, also known as Services and Advocacy for GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) elders, has been in existence since 1997. It has hired Kim Stowell as its first executive director.

CareLink shares a commitment with SAGE-RI to addressing issues of concern to GLBT elders, and offers SAGE-RI a strong platform from which to advocate for the communities it serves, according to a news release from the organization.

Stowell served as managing director of Options, the news magazine for the Rhode Island GLBT community, for nearly 10 years.
“I am proud to assume this role,” Stowell said, “and thrilled to be working with such a talented and energetic group, both within the SAGE organization and at CareLink. With deep respect for those who came before me, I feel that SAGE-RI is well positioned to strengthen and expand its work.”
