Carnegie home sells for $5.2M

PORTSMOUTH – A five-bedroom, five-bathroom American Shingle-style home within the gated Carnegie Abbey Club enclave has sold for $5.2 million, the highest sale price for a residential property in Rhode Island this year, listing agency Lila Delman Real Estate announced.
The 9,397-square-foot house, located on a 2.6-acre waterfront lot at 166 Carnegie Heights Drive, was designed by Newport Collaborative Architects and built in 2006.
“2012 holds promise for a continuation of the strengthening we saw in Rhode Island luxury real estate last year,” said Lila Delman President Melanie Delman.
Delman said her brokerage is currently scheduled to close 2 more properties listed above $3 million; one in Westerly and one on Block Island.
The Carnegie Abbey property was listed by Delman and Broker Associate Robin Nicholson.
