PROVIDENCE – Providence-based Cathedral Development is moving forward with plans to build a 40-unit apartment building on vacant land in Federal Hill.

The new construction, at 434 Atwells Ave., would include street-level retail and 40 internal parking spaces. The five-story building would reach a height of 50 feet, according to city planning records.

The site is at the corner of Atwells Avenue and Knight Street, and includes frontage on Atwells Avenue.

The City Plan Commission has scheduled a public hearing on the project on Jan. 17. The building will be designed by Northeast Collaborative Architects.
