Providence – Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee has nominated Nami Studios President Maeve Donahue for the R.I. Economic Development Corporation board of directors, the governor announced Thursday.
“Her outlook will be valuable for the new EDC Board, which has shifted its focus to helping existing Rhode Island businesses – many of them small businesses – succeed and grow, while working to attract new job-creators to our state,” said the governor in prepared remarks.
“As a representative of the ‘new economy,’ Maeve will be an important member of our team,” said Chafee, adding comments outlining the success of Donahue’s business, a full-service marketing and public relations firm specializing in Web strategies, e-commerce, social media, branding applications, search-engine optimization, new media, graphic design and publicity.
Donahue has been president of the integrated design, marketing and communications firm since 2001. As president, she works closely with clients to determine their business and marketing goals in order to develop the most effective plan for their unique situation. She is responsible for the overall creative vision of the agency, according to the release.
Donahue is also creative director for Brand Visionaries LLC, a full-service brand consultancy in Rhode Island and New York specializing in brand portfolio management, brand analysis, brand valuation, brand strategy, and corporate design.
If approved by the Senate, Donahue will join Chafee, Jerauld Adams, Karl Wadensten, Dr. Nancy Carriulo, Jason Kelly, George Nee, Roland Fiore, Shannon Brawley and Stanley Weiss on the EDC’s board, which has undergone a major overhaul since its collapse shortly after the bankruptcy of 38 Studios LLC.
