Citizens Bank offers new small-biz account

PROVIDENCE – Citizens Bank this month launched a new small-business checking account that cuts monthly maintenance fees, has no minimum balance requirements and allows 200 free transactions per statement period.
The account, dubbed Clearly Better Business Checking, allows small business customers to bank “without having to worry about any unknown fees impacting their business,” according to Providence-based Citizens Bank, a Citizens Financial Group Inc. company.
“The number one thing we hear from small business owners is that they want financial products that help them spend less time managing their finances and more time focusing on running their business,” said Quincy Miller, president of business banking at Citizens, in a statement.
Small business owners, defined by Citizens as those with $25 million or less in annual revenue, can make up to 200 transactions per statement period without incurring any transactions fees, according to the bank.
“With no need to monitor account activity for monthly maintenance fees or minimum balance requirements, clearly better business checking makes it easier for those business owners to focus on serving their customers and growing their businesses,” Miller said.
The new account is a part of the bank’s new Bank Better program, which is an initiative the banks says focuses on making banking simple, clear and personal.
