WOONSOCKET – The Citizens Bank Foundation is supporting the Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Campaign with a $15,000 grant for media outreach, according to a press release.

The foundation is partnering with Rhode Island Community Action Association and the United Way to raise awareness of available tax credits and to offer free tax preparation to working state residents who meet income guidelines.

In 2012, the Earned Income Tax Credit helped bring nearly $15 million back to residents.
