For the sixth year, leaders at Citizens Bank pitched in to fight hunger by assisting with McAuley Ministries’ Lunch on Us program.

The Providence-based organization dedicated to helping those less fortunate, serves up to 300 people per day in need of food, clothing, shelter and other types of assistance at its meal site, McAuley House. Through the organization’s Lunch on Us program, local businesses fund meals and then assist in serving them.

Recently, Citizens Bank Rhode Island President Ned Handy and members of his leadership stopped by the house to lend a hand alongside regular McAuley House volunteers.

“We are proud to partner with McAuley House on this critically important program that feeds our neighbors during this great time of need,” Handy said. “Hunger is a national and local crisis and I am pleased to say that we are making a profound difference in the lives of those experiencing a lack of food.”

In November, Citizens Bank provided a $10,000 grant to McAuley House in honor of National Hunger Awareness Month.
