Citizens offering assistance to customers affected by La. flooding

PROVIDENCE – Citizens Financial Group Inc. is offering a variety of extensions and waivers for customers impacted by the Louisiana flood.
The company, based in Providence, is offering the assistance through Citizens Bank and its lending division Citizens One. The payment extensions and fee waivers are offered on credit cards along with auto, student and mortgage loans. Customers with small business loans are also eligible for assistance.
“We are committed to helping our customers get through the effects of the flooding,” said Brad Conner, vice chairman for consumer banking at Citizens. “Our goal is to always help our customers bank better by understanding and addressing their personal needs, and this is our way of letting them know we’re all in this together.”
The flood killed 13 people in the Baton Rouge area and flooded more than 100,000 houses. It’s the biggest natural disaster in Louisiana since Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans in 2005.
