PROVIDENCE – Michael Polsky, CEO of Invenergy LLC, a Chicago-based power generation and energy storage developer, owner and operator, will join Gov. Gina M. Raimondo at the Statehouse on Tuesday to announce his company’s plans for an energy-production facility in Burrillville.

The natural gas-fueled power generation facility is expected to generate more than 900 megawatts of power, according to a press release from Invenergy. The company plans to invest more than $700 million in the new facility, which is to be called the Clear River Energy Center, and hire more than 300 people to build and operate it.

The facility will be located on the southeast side of the Algonquin Compressor Station in Burrillville. Officials said additional details, such as a construction timeline, will be released Tuesday at the event.

According to Invenergy’s website, the company also has regional offices in Denver, Toronto, Mexico City, Warsaw and Tokyo, and has developed more than 9,000 megawatts of utility-scale renewable and natural gas-fueled power generation and energy storage facilities in the United States, Canada and Europe.
