Clinton, Sanders open campaign offices in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE – The two Democratic candidates competing for the party’s presidential nomination have started opening offices in Rhode Island, preparing for the state’s April 26 primary election.
In Providence, the campaign of Bernie Sanders opted for Upper South Providence, in a building owned by a nonprofit community development organization, while Hillary Clinton chose space in Elmwood owned by former Mayor Joseph R. Paolino Jr. The office at 77 Reservoir Ave., Suite 10, is located in the Mashpaug Commons retail center and is owned by Mashpaug Partners LLC, for which Paolino is the registered agent. Paolino was appointed by President Bill Clinton to be the ambassador to Malta.
Clinton also opened an office in Central Falls, at 555 Broad St.
Sanders, meanwhile, has opened offices at 500 Broad St., Suite 1, in Providence, as well as in South Kingstown, at 271 Main St., Wakefield.
Sanders’ Providence location is in the Upper South Providence neighborhood, in a commercial building owned by Stop Wasting Abandoned Property.
