PROVIDENCE – Brown University has one of the best master’s degree in public health programs in the country, according to College Choice, an online site which ranked the top 50 programs.
Brown ranked 36th in the country for its program, which features the following graduate degree options: Master of Public Health and Master of Science. Tuition for graduate students in public health at Brown totals $48,272 per year.
Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore ranked first; tuition there is $30,600 a year.
Ranking second was the University of Michigan, third, Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., fourth, Harvard University in Boston, and fifth, Yale University in New Haven, Conn.

College Choice said it created the list to “provide readers a clear sense of which are the best programs for public health with an eye toward best return on investment.” It said it considered factors including academic rank, tuition per-year (based only on out-of-state tuition) and average graduate pay.
