Collette employees donate time

PAWTUCKET – More than 100 Collette employees dedicated 380 hours of community service in Rhode Island in mid-July in honor of the company’s founder, the late Dan Sullivan Sr.
Collette, an international tour operator, celebrated its second annual Founder’s Day July 18 on what would have been the 93rd birthday for Sullivan, who purchased the company from a family friend, Jack Collette, in 1962.
A total of 123 employees participated in the community service projects, the company said.
The statue, unveiled on July 18 in Collette Park, was meant to showcase the late Sullivan’s values of family, charity and exploration. Sculptor Chris Kane sculpted the piece.
“Collette was a huge part of my dad’s life and he dedicated his life to his work, his family and giving back to the community,” said Dan Sullivan, Jr., president and CEO of Collette. “He always said, ‘When you find a job you love, you’ll never have to work another day in your life.’ My dad dedicated his life to his family, to Collette and to giving back. Because of this, Founder’s Day has become a celebration of giving back to the community.”
Headquartered in Pawtucket, Collette is a third-generation, family-owned firm with divisions in Canada and the United Kingdom that provides 160 tour destinations across the globe.
