Employees of Collette Vacations celebrated 2013 National Volunteer Week, which ran from April 21 to April 27, by offering more than 100 hours of support to a handful of Rhode Island-based organizations. Staff pitched in by processing donations for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, by walking in the March for Babies event for March of Dimes and by serving meals at the Pawtucket Soup Kitchen and the McAuley House in Providence.
Collette employees also created a video in which they shared their personal reasons for volunteering. The video was posted on the company website as a way to encourage others to engage with their local communities.
“Collette Vacations is excited to share our robust volunteer spirit during this weeklong celebration of service,” said Lynne Kelly, community relations manager of Collette Vacations, prior to the event. “We hope our volunteers’ genuine eagerness to support their communities will inspire more individuals to get out and make a difference.” •
