The Collette Foundation, charitable arm of tour operator Collette Vacations, recently donated more than $8,600 to the Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Fund in support of the nonprofit’s heart camp, which serves children with heart disease and congenital heart defects.
The total giving is a result of a $5,000 grant by the Collette Foundation along with employee donations from the company’s “casual Friday dollars,” where employees donate $1 to the company’s charity of the year for the privilege of dressing down on Fridays.
As part of the company’s charitable giving, Collette staff also volunteered at the nonprofit’s various events to learn first hand the needs and impact of this year’s recipient.
The Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Fund, founded by Jeffrey and Louise Dinsmore, shortly after their daughter Gabrielle lost her battle against a congenital heart defect, was established to provide educational, emotional, recreational and financial support to children and families impacted by congenital heart disease, heart defects and severe feeding issues in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts. •
