WARWICK – Condor Airlines is promoting its nonstop service between T.F. Green Airport and Frankfurt, Germany with fare specials for flights this summer.
The inaugural roundtrip flight is scheduled to leave Frankfurt for Rhode Island on June 18. The one-way fares have dropped by almost $100 since the service was announced last summer, part of a Condor promotion for the inaugural season, according to Rebecca Pazienza, a spokeswoman for the R.I. Airport Corp., which operates Green airport.
Condor is selling one-way, economy class tickets beginning at $340.99, for the nonstop flights between Providence and Frankfurt. One-way fares for premium economy class tickets begin at $454.99. Business class fares begin at $852.99 one-way.
The airline’s schedule will include departures from T.F. Green on Monday and Thursday nights, with return trips from Frankfurt arriving in Green at 4 p.m. Mondays and at 5:55 p.m. on Thursdays. Flights to Germany are 7 hours, 20 minutes, with the return leg scheduled to last 8 hours, 25 minutes.
Officials of the German airline attended a press conference at Green on Tuesday. It was the first opportunity for the airline officials to visit Warwick and tourism officials here, Pazienza explained.
The flights have been booking since September 2014, shortly after the service was announced. The service is designed initially to capture the summer vacation season. Condor’s partners in Europe offer connections from Frankfurt to cities including Rome, London and Paris.
Some of the fares to these destination cities were promoted at the press conference, including Providence to Frankfurt to Paris for $462.99 one-way, or Providence to Frankfurt to London at $474.99.
Condor will fly to seven locations in the United States with its expansion into Green. It also serves Baltimore, Fort Lauderdale, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Portland and Seattle.
