Corporate health efforts drive company growth

The history of Coventry-based Preventure Inc. goes back to the 1990s, when it operated as a network of fitness clubs. But when the company transformed into the corporate-wellness-plan administrator that it is today, the business really started to take off.
Preventure is now growing rapidly by operating health-risk assessments, wellness education, incentive plans and fitness programs for more than 100 corporations and health insurers.
Mark Correia, Preventure’s CEO, attributes this growth to the company’s talented – and growing – staff. The company has expanded its number of employees from 16 to 42 in recent years, creating a comprehensive team made up of customer service, data tracking, human resources, sales and marketing and account-management professionals.
“You’ve got to have good products and services, but then you have to have quality people delivering the products,” said Correia. “We’re committed to what we call a customer-intimate model. It became essential that if we’re going to stick to our strategy of customer intimacy, we had to deliver on all fronts.”
Preventure employees maintain very close relationships with clients. Each wellness plan is customized to each corporation and health insurer, and account managers keep in regular contact to track progress and improve programs.
Correia said Preventure plans to build on its strong growth pattern in the years to come. “We’re having a very good year this year, and we’re forecasting to have a good year next year.” •
