Corvias Campus Living lands $517M student housing contract with University of Georgia

EAST GREENWICH – Corvias Campus Living has landed a $517 million contract with the University of Georgia to maintain and expand the school system’s student housing.
Under the agreement announced by parent company Corvias Group this week, Corvias Campus Living will take over maintenance responsibilities for existing dormitories with 6,195 beds over the next 65 years.
The company also will be responsible for building new residence halls with 3,683 additional beds.
When those new dorms are built, Corvias will be maintaining over 3 million square feet of space in nine of the university system’s 31 campuses.
“We applaud Georgia and the Board of Regents for taking such an innovative leadership position in solving today’s student housing challenges,” said Kurt Ehlers, managing director of Corvias Campus Living. “The partnership focuses on doing the right thing – providing affordable on-campus housing for [University of Georgia] students while also setting the stage for positive change in student housing.”
The public-private partnership deal provides $5.6 million to make immediate repairs and upgrades to existing buildings and establishes a “reinvestment account” that should channel $2 billion into ongoing maintenance over the 65-year life of the deal.
Corvias Campus living is the educational division of Corvias Group, which also includes Corvias Military Living and Corvias Solutions. The company was formerly Picerne Military Housing.
