Cox Communications donates $25K technology center to Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET – Cox Communications and the James M. Cox Foundation will donate a $25,000 Cox Technology Center to the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket on Nov. 12.

The donation is being made in an effort to bridge the “digital divide for children who have no access to a computer or Internet connection at home,” according to information from Cox Communications.
The new Technology Center is at the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, 1 Moeller Place, and it represents one of seven sites that the Cox Foundation will open at Boys & Girls Clubs across the country this year.
The Technology Center will feature 10 new computers with educational software that will provide students access to the digital tools they need to complete homework assignments, print school reports, prepare for college and conduct job searches.

“All of this will enable students to achieve their educational goals,” according to Cox.

Attending the grand opening event will be Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket staff, Cox Communications representatives, local elected officials, and students and their families.
