Cox Communications recently awarded $15,000 in Cox Charities grants to 15 Rhode Island nonprofit organizations as part of its Cox Charities Employee Grant Program, an extension of the company’s philanthropic work in communities where its employees live and work. The contribution is part of a larger $28,000 gift recognizing Cox employees’ dedication to the local community.
The program awards $1,000 grants to nonprofit organizations in the Cox service area and is in response to employees’ desire to be more involved in their neighborhoods.
“At Cox Communications, we strive to enrich the communities we serve by donating money and time to support nonprofit organizations, programs and civic initiatives,” said John Wolfe, senior vice president and general manager at Cox Communications. “We’re proud that our company and our employees can make a difference.”
Seven organizations in Connecticut and six organizations in Ohio were also awarded. Cox Communications launched Cox Charities in 2001 and has invested more than $5.6 million in Cox Charities grants and in-kind support to more than 130 nonprofit organizations. •
