CENTRAL FALLS – Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee will join local officials and representatives of Cox Communications to launch Connect2Compete in Rhode Island on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
Connect2Compete low-income students and their families with technology and digital literacy training at a discounted price, with the aim of “bridging the digital divide,” according to a release. The program includes high-speed internet and computers and is designed to help students “complete homework assignments, communicate with teachers and explore learning opportunities online.”
Connect2Compete will launch at Central Falls High School.
