WEST WARWICK – Cox Communications named Ed Mastriano, Cox Media marketing manager, a Cox Charities Community Hero as a result of his volunteer work with Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership in Warwick.

The Community Hero program recognizes employees who actively volunteer with a nonprofit organization. Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership will receive a $3,000 Cox Charities grant on his behalf.

“I am passionate about mentoring. By participating as a mentor, I have seen firsthand the difference a mentor can make in the life of a young person,” Mastriano said.

Since 2001, Cox Communications has awarded more than $550,000 in Cox Charities grants and in-kind support on behalf of their employee’s volunteer efforts throughout the Cox service areas.
