Creative options abound to get healthy

This year at AAA Northeast, employees are lacing up their walking shoes and hiking the Eastern seaboard.

Well, in spirit, at least.

Over six weeks, workers with the Providence-based chapter of the national motor club are logging every step with a goal to rack up the number of miles between New Jersey to Maine.

The virtual challenge is one of the creative options that AAA Northeast offers in hopes to inspire employees to improve their physical and mental well-being.

Through the AAA HealthWorks program, employees complete a confidential personal health assessment, ultimately earning required wellness credits that can help them save up to $480 on medical insurance or be used for fitness or healthy-cooking events.

“It’s not just a ‘one-stop, here’s-what-you-need-to-do’ program,” Diehl said. “People enjoy the variations of the challenges and the different ways they can earn credits.” n
