DEM hosts meetings on wildlife action plan

PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Department of Environmental Management’s Division of Fish and Wildlife will hold public meetings throughout the state next month to discuss the 2015 Wildlife Action Plan and how it relates to conservation in Rhode Island.
The meetings will solicit public input on the document before it is finalized. The plan guides wildlife conservation across the state by identifying priority actions for agencies, conservation groups, towns and citizens alike to help wildlife.
Attendees will have an opportunity to identify information gaps or additional needs that DEM and its partners can address to assist local communities with conservation priorities.
The meetings will be held:
• Dec. 8 at the South Kingstown Land Trust Barn from 6-8 p.m.
• Dec. 9 at Powder Mill Ledges Wildlife Refuge, 12 Sanderson Road, in Smithfield from 10 a.m. to noon.
• Dec. 11 at the Bristol Parks and Recreation Community Center at Colt State Park, 101 Asylum Road from 6-8 p.m. •
