PROVIDENCE â€“ The R.I. Division of Taxation has posted on its website several state tax forms for tax year 2013, as well as the tax rate schedule, worksheets and 2013 tax tables, according to a Dec. 16 advisory from the agency.
Many of the stateâ€™s 2103 tax forms have a new look with a barcode at the top to allow for more efficient processing, the department said.
â€śMany taxpayers and preparers like to get an early start on their preparations for filing
Season,â€ť said R.I. Tax Administrator David M. Sullivan. â€śAs part of their preparations, they like to review early copies of our forms and instructions to use for guidance.â€ť
Taxpayers and preparers should not file from until filing season actually starts. Rhode Islandâ€™s tax-filing season will coincide with the federal filing season, tentatively scheduled to sometime between Jan. 28 and Feb. 4. The date will be finalized by the Internal Revenue Service.
