PROVIDENCE – Dama Inc. will collaborate with LeachGarner, a Berkshire Hathaway company, to bring new findings, including a new secure clutch and post earring back system, to the jewelry market.
“After developing our innovative new line of findings, we wanted to find a distribution channel to help us deliver those products to the market,” Marcos Fountoulakis, CEO of Dama, said in a statement. “LeachGarner’s demonstrated excellence in the distribution and manufacturing of jewelry findings makes them an ideal collaborator.”
Attleboro-based LeachGarner specializes in manufacturing and distributing jewelry basic materials and components to manufacturers around the world.
“As soon as Dama approached us with their new clutch and post earring back system, we knew that we had found something special,” Joe Esposito, LeachGarner’s managing director, said in prepared remarks. “Their product solves a real need in the market that no other company has fully addressed. Dama has shown us some of the greatest innovations we’ve seen in the past 50 years.”
Under the collaboration agreement, Dama and LeachGarner will jointly develop the new earring components while still maintaining their status as separate entities. The first joint product launch is planned for the first quarter of 2013, with a new post and clutch earring back system. Dama will manufacture the new secure clutch and LeachGarner will manufacture the secure posts.
The companies plan to jointly announce a new line of earring findings in the future, according to a release.
“We’re all very excited to work alongside Dama on this product launch. Both Dama and LeachGarner are committed to building the best products available in our American manufacturing facilities, and we’re looking forward to enhancing that commitment to quality for both companies,” LeachGarner President Joe White said in a statement.
