December Geeks dinner to feature Achievery

PROVIDENCE – The last “geek dinner” of the year will be held Dec. 10 at AS220 on Empire Street, and will feature Achievery, a digital credential and badge platform that encourages individuals to recognize nontraditional and emerging skills.
The dinner, hosted by Providence Geeks, will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event is free, but attendees buy their own food and drink.
“Digital credentials are evidence-backed, data-rich tokens of achievement that are transforming education and HR around the world. Working alongside giants like Mozilla, Pearson Education and the Gates Foundation, Providence-based Achievery has established itself as the most active company in defining and supporting the leading digital credential standard – Open Badges,” according to information from Providence Geeks.
Achievery co-founders, CEO Damian Ewens and Chief Technology Officer Kerri Lemoie, will tell the Achievery story, demonstrate their platform and discuss where they are headed next.
