PROVIDENCE – Ronald McDonald House Charities has received a $100,000 Powering the Possible grant from Dell to be shared among 14 charity chapters in cities where Dell has offices.

The funds are designated to support programs for families with children undergoing pediatric cancer treatment.

“Dell has proven itself to be a company which is dedicated to the health and wellness of the communities in which they live and operate,” said Michael Fantom, CEO of Ronald McDonald House of Providence, in a statement.

“We are very excited to be part of this new multi-city partnership between Dell and RMHC on behalf of families of critically ill children,” said Fantom.

Providence will receive roughly $5,000 of the $100,000 according to a Ronald McDonald House of Providence spokesperson.

Other chapters receiving a portion of the $100,000 award are Ronald McDonald Houses in Akron, Ohio, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas and Stanford, Calif.

Ronald McDonald House Charities chapters in Austin, Texas, Central Illinois, Chicago, Nashville, Tenn., Oklahoma City, Omaha, Neb., greater Washington, D.C. and the upper Midwest also will share in the $100,000 award.

As part of the grant, Dell employees in each of the participating cities will be volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House.

“Ronald McDonald Houses keep families together during difficult treatment regimens, and children heal better when their families are nearby,” said Fantom.
