WEST WARWICK – The West Valley Inn has a new owner.
Frank DiBiase Jr., owner of Block Island’s Spring House, Providence Oyster Bar, Federal Taphouse & Kitchen on Federal Hill in Providence and The Fire Brick Oven Pizza & Bar in North Providence, has purchased the longtime restaurant on Blossom Street.
Nancy Thomas, president of Tapestry Communications, which is handling public relations for the restaurant, confirmed the purchase, noting final documentation still needs to be approved.
Thomas released a statement regarding the purchase on Friday afternoon:

“The West Valley Inn announced that it has accepted the offer of Frank DiBiase Jr., the owner of the Atwells Restaurant Group, to purchase the iconic R.I. restaurant, catering and event facility, and it is their intent to maintain many of the traditions and operations of ‘West Valley,’ which was a key component in accepting the offer.”

DiBiase could not be reached for comment.
The nearly 12-acre property, which is operated by the Correia family, had been for sale for a year; it was listed at $1.5 million. It closed for business on Aug. 21 after being in operation since 1978.
Four bids for the property were submitted by the Aug. 23 deadline.
