NEWPORT – Erin Donovan-Boyle has been appointed executive director of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce.
The board of directors unanimously approved Donovan-Boyle’s appointment on a recommendation from the nine-member search committee.
She was one of six candidates interviewed for the job currently held by Jody J. Sullivan, who is retiring.
Donovan-Boyle is currently the outreach director for U.S. Sen. Jack F. Reed’s Rhode Island office. Donovan-Boyle previously worked as campaign manager for then-Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis, was vice president of the Mayforth Group, executive director of the Ocean State Tall Ships and a funding specialist and project manager for the Newport County Development Council, the Chamber’s nonprofit foundation.
Donovan-Boyle will start her new position June 15.
