PROVIDENCE – Duffy & Shanley’s public relations team has won four awards through The Publicity Club of New England’s annual Bell Ringer Awards, announced June 9.

The awards recognize professionals for excellence in communications and public relations work across every industry and across all mediums, including print, broadcast, online and social media. The competition received a record number of entries this year, the organization’s 46th year presenting the awards, with more than 300 entries submitted.

This year, Duffy & Shanley received Gold Bell awards (the competition’s highest honor) in two categories: photo or graphic with caption placement, for Duffy & Shanley’s “Jumpstart Read for the Record Campaign” in USA Today; and print feature or commentary placement in a regional or general interest publication, for the agency’s Boston Herald feature on AT&T Digital Life.

Duffy & Shanley also took home a Bronze Bell award for its direct-mail holiday campaign and a Merit award for its feature series on Deepwater Wind LLC’s offshore wind auction.

Other Rhode Island companies recognized in the 2014 Bell Ringer Awards, both based in Providence, included Fidelity Investments, which received a Gold Bell for its consumer campaign examining investor sentiment five years after the 2008 financial crisis, and RDW Group Inc., which won a Merit award for its campaign on the closure of Higgins Armory Museum.

The May Institute, a national nonprofit geared toward helping children with autism that operates branches in Fall River, New Bedford and Raynham, received a Merit award for its CEO/COO/CFO employee communications campaign.
