Dumpstaphunk to headline R.I. Rally4Recovery

PROVIDENCE – Ivan Neville, singer and songwriter with the group Dumpstaphunk, will be the headliner at the Sept. 21 Rally4Recovery event.
Former U.S. Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy will serve as the Rally4Recovery grand marshal.
“We invite people in recovery, our families and friends from throughout the region to join us in Providence,” said Jim Gillen, co-chair of the Rhode Island Rally4Recovery committee. “There are over 23 million Americans in recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. On Oct. 1, millions of people with addiction and mental illness will be eligible for health insurance coverage. We will be celebrating this important victory by getting ready to enroll.”
The Rhode Island rally will be streamed live worldwide, according to organizers.
Events include a street festival and rally at the Roger Williams National Memorial along North Main and Canal Streets in downtown Providence, beginning at 2 p.m. It will be followed by a torchlight parade to WaterFire at 7 p.m.
