Dunkin’, Hasbro hospital launch 4-Safety program

Dunkin’ Donuts recently announced the launch of a new joint initiative with Hasbro Children’s Hospital to promote child safety and reduce the risk of preventable injuries.
The 4-Safety program will host local events, providing safety education through interactive outlets such as computer tablets, short videos and helmet fittings in a Community Outreach van.
The safety topic will change each season and it will be based off of research conducted by Hasbro Children’s Hospital, which tracks accidents of patients. For instance, if there is an uptick of bicycle accidents in a specific community, the 4-Safety program may host an event in that region.
This fall, the initiative will focus on sports-related head injuries. The first event was held at a Dunkin’ Donuts location in Barrington on Oct. 18.
In addition to the partnership to promote safety, there will also be a public service announcement contest for high school students and a Dunkin’ Donuts Injury Prevention Scholars component (for course credit at Brown University) for undergraduate students. •
