(Updated 2:16 p.m.) PROVIDENCE – Edible Rhody magazine has released its local hero winners for 2015 based on reader feedback.
This year’s round of winners are:

  • Farm: Diana Kushner, of Arcadian Fields Organic Farm in the Hope Valley section of Hopkinton, a four-acre farm founded in 1998.
  • Chef/restaurant: Matthew MacCartney, owner of Jamestown Fish, a seafood restaurant in Jamestown.
  • Food artisan: Andrea Colognese, owner of Village Hearth Bakery in Jamestown.
  • Beverage artisan: David M. Lanning – Dave’s Coffee in Charlestown and Providence.
  • Food, wine or retail shop: Grapes & Gourmet, food and wine store, in Jamestown.
  • Food-related nonprofit: The Genesis Center Culinary Arts Training Program in Providence.

Lanning, who has been in business for 18 years, said winning the award “was awesome” and “unexpected.”
“It’s nice to be recognized,” Lanning said.
Winners will be featured in the upcoming spring issue of Edible Rhody, available after March 21.
