PROVIDENCE – Elmwood Health Center has earned a 2014 Silver Achievement in Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. The award is one of three distinct awards possible through the National Quality Award Program, which honors select centers across the nation that serve as models of excellence in providing high-quality long-term care. Elmwood was one of only 77 centers nationwide to earn the award this year and one of only seven Rhode Island facilities to earn the award since the program began in 1996.

Elmwood Health Center provides long term and sub-acute care to more than 150 Rhode Islanders each year. It is owned and operated by Health Concepts Ltd., a family-owned and operated chain of skilled nursing facilities based in Rhode Island.

“I’m extremely proud of my staff’s commitment to excellence. Their dedication stems from the desire to improve the lives of the people they care for and I’m thrilled to see them recognized for their hard work,” said Karen Morin, Administrator of Elmwood Health Center.

Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals.
