The dictionary defines "execution" as the act of doing or completing something to perfection. This is the PK Way at ParsonsKellogg.
Mike Tyson once said everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. Our "punch in the face" came with the Great Recession in 2008. Many of our key customers were struggling, yet we were determined to help our partners recover and for ParsonsKellogg to thrive at the same time. We needed a new plan.
We responded by focusing on our core values, which include:
» Accountability. We expect a high degree of self-management and yet hold all employees to company goals (which they help set).
» Disciplined freedom. While we expect adherence to the core values, we give each employee the freedom to grow.
» Sense of urgency. PK employees are fully in the game. If a customer wants an order delivered in two weeks, why not deliver in one?
» Integrity. We expect all employees to be honorable and forthright.
» Assertive humility. We are professional, gracious and humble, but are proud of our employees, products and performance.
We fill our company with people who are committed to excellence and treat everyone like a customer. We do what we say we are going to do when we say we are going to do it. Our Yes means Yes, and our No means No.
While we aren't always perfect, execution and delivering the PK Way have become the driving forces behind our team and our success. •
