FM Global gives $1.69M to United Way

JOHNSTON – FM Global, a global commercial property insurer, has contributed more than $1.69 million to the United Way of Rhode Island’s 2015 campaign.
For every dollar that FM Global employees give to the United Way, the company provides a two-for-one match. Employee participation in the company’s United Way campaign has increased by 10 percent, resulting in an additional $120,000 in contributions compared with the previous year, the company said.
FM Global employees can choose an electronic payroll deduction from a list of many nonprofits across the country, but choose United Way, a choice Anthony Maione, United Way’s president and CEO, said means a lot to his organization.
“FM Global is and has been for a long time the single largest contributor to the United Way campaign in Rhode Island,” he said. “As a company they give just tremendous support to our community. The money [they give] will come here and the vast majority of it will say here. We’re just extremely grateful. It’s the work in the community that matters. When I say, ‘We couldn’t do it without you’ to our donors, it’s incredibly true for this organization.”
FM Global, Rhode Island’s largest private company, also engages in fundraising that includes community service projects, theme basket raffles, grab bags, a silent auction, a backyard lawn game and denim dress-down days.
Established in Rhode Island nearly two centuries ago, the $5.6 billion company insures more than one out of every three Fortune 1000 companies and similar sized organizations in more than 130 countries around the world. For more information, visit www.fmglobal.com.
