Mechanics Cooperative Bank recently presented a $10,000 donation to the Fall River United Way to provide a last-minute boost to the nonprofit’s annual fundraising campaign.
“We could not be more thankful to have a great local partner like Mechanics Cooperative Bank,” said Bob Horne, executive director of the Fall River United Way.
The Fall River United Way will use the funds to serve more than 35 local health and human-services agencies. Last year, the United Way and these agencies served more than 64,000 people in the Fall River Area.
“The Fall River United Way has long been a vital resource to the City of Fall River and its residents,” said Joseph Baptista Jr., president and CEO of Mechanics Cooperative Bank. “At Mechanics Cooperative Bank we are not only proud corporate supporters, but personal supporters as well through employee volunteerism and weekly payroll deductions – proof that our local employees understand the amazing benefits made possible by Executive Director Robert Horne and the entire staff at the Fall River United Way.” &#8226
