Family has a special meaning for us at Arpin Group.
Founded in 1900 by my great-grandfather in Providence, our primary business at the time was delivering coal and ice. Today, still based in Rhode Island, we have become a global leader in the household-goods moving industry with offices around the world.
We consider our employees, drivers and members of our agent network to be an extended part of our Arpin family. Many of our employees have been with us for decades. They have married and established families of their own. We have watched their children grow up, go to college and even start their careers at Arpin with an internship.
The traditional corporate career path in America has changed. Gone are the days when one would start a job with a company fresh out of high school or college, stay with the firm until age 65 and retire with a pension and a gold wristwatch.
But at Arpin, I always have strongly believed in investing in our employees – our extended family – so they have the training, guidance and support needed to enjoy rewarding careers, as well as fulfilling lives. I set out to build a company that inspires our employees and agents to achieve their greatest level of success.
Still, employees consistently tell me their greatest motivator and source of inspiration are the customers they assist, the families they move. It's a connection we never forget. •
