Feijo sentenced for selling unapproved health products

PROVIDENCE – James Feijo, owner and operator of Daniel Chapter One, a shuttered Portsmouth-based company, was sentenced last week to six months in federal prison and six months home confinement for tax violations and for marketing and selling unapproved health products.

At the time of his previous guilty plea, Feijo, 68, admitted to the court that he engaged in the marketing, sale and distribution of unapproved cancer-treatment health products and supplements which were not generally recognized as safe and effective, according to U. S. Attorney Peter F. Neronha’s office.

“People facing difficult, even life-threatening health challenges are often susceptible to the kinds of deceptive schemes cooked up by the defendant here,” said Neronha in a news release. •
