PROVIDENCE – The Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival will host one of 45 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences sanctioned Oscar parties on Sunday, Feb. 24, at The Vets on One Avenue of the Arts, to benefit the festival’s 17th season in August and support community outreach and educational programs.
The black tie optional Oscar Experience: Providence will also honor members of the Rhode Island Film and Arts community with Producer Circle Awards.
The Oscar Experience is the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ grassroots program that allows nonprofit organizations to host parties centered on Oscar night.
The 85th Academy Awards is being hosted by Rhode Island School of Design graduate Seth MacFarlane, who is the creator of the popular animated TV series ‘The Family Guy.’
The party will include a red carpet entrance, dinner, live music, and a silent auction as well as a telecast of the Academy Awards. Tickets are $85 per person and can be purchased at RIFilmFest.org.
