PROVIDENCE – A web-based employment search firm based in Westbrook, Maine, has upgraded its Rhode Island site, the first of six New England states to get enhanced tools for employers and users engaged in the job search.
“We upgraded Rhode Island first because we view it as the largest growth opportunity right now for our business,” Joe Anto, CEO of Jobs in the U.S., said in an email Monday. “Launching the new site in Rhode Island is part of an overall strategy to expand our relationships with job seekers and employers in the state.”
The company was founded in 1999 and has had a Rhode Island presence since 2004, Anto said.
Launched online on March 26, the improvements to the hyperlocal www.jobsinri.com website feature resume alerts that automatically capture candidates fitting the criteria of posted jobs.
The new site also has a “more robust applicant tracking system” and flexible resume database for employers, plus job distribution to a network of top job boards that includes Indeed.com and SimplyHired.com, Anto said. All jobs are automatically sent to this network, increasing posting visibility across the web, he said.
To date, according to Anto, jobsinri.com serves more than 16,000 registered users, who can access the site for free, and more than 500 registered employers. Employers pay based on the number of jobs they want to post and the period of time for the posting, he said. Fees range from $100 a month to $8,000 a year.
