Food Network chef to M.C. benefit

PROVIDENCE – Chef, author and TV host Dave Lieberman will be master of ceremonies at Amos House’s “Seed to Spoon,” an urban farm-to-table dinner fundraiser at the Steel Yard on Sept. 28.
Amos House is a nonprofit social service agency that provides direct support for men, women, and children in Rhode Island who are hungry, homeless, and in crisis.
“Amos House is an incredible organization that impacts so many lives,” said Lieberman. “The work they do, and the difference they make, is a perfect illustration of how truly transformative wholesome food can be beyond simply the nutrition it provides.”
The evening will feature an elegant multi-course farm dinner experience showcasing a seasonal menu using farm-fresh produce. More Than A Meal Catering, a division of Amos House Works, will prepare gourmet dishes, with each course spotlighting seasonal fall produce, sustainable meat, and freshly caught seafood from local farmers. Food will be served with wine and beer pairings.
Before cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7, there will be a VIP reception at 5:30 with a special workshop from Pasture to Plate that demonstrates how additions from the farmer’s market can elevate classic cocktails to the next level.
Lieberman has published three cookbooks, including New York Times bestseller “The 10 Things You Need to Eat: And More than 100 Easy and Delicious Ways to Prepare Them.” He was the host of Food Network’s “Good Deal with Dave Lieberman,” as well as “Dave Does.” He also hosted “In Search of Real Food,” a food-related travel series for Yahoo! and Farm to Fork, a food-related travel series for PBS.
From Seed to Spoon will raise funds to help provide direct support for men, women and children in Rhode Island who are hungry, homeless and in crisis. Tickets are $200 per person for the VIP reception, cocktails and dinner or $150 per person for cocktails and dinner. Tickets can be purchased online at www.amoshouse.com/fromseedtospoon or by calling 401- 831-9866.
