The New York Yankees again are the most valuable team in baseball, with a net worth of $3.4 billion, Forbes reported on Wednesday.
Forbes said the Yankees have held Major League Baseball’s top spot since its first estimation of team values in 1998.
The Yankees’ value is nearly triple the league’s average value at $1.3 billion, which increased 7 percent from last year and 59 percent from 2014, Forbes said.
Worth $2.5 billion, the Los Angeles Dodgers came in second, followed by the Boston Red Sox in third place at $2.3 billion, San Francisco Giants in fourth place at $2.25 billion and Chicago Cubs in fifth place at $2.2 billion.

MLB revenue for the 2015 season for the 30 teams was a combined $8.4 billion, 7 percent more than the previous season, Forbes said.
