Foreclosure petitions jump 39% in Bristol County

BOSTON – Foreclosure petitions increased nearly 42 percent in the Bay State with 910 filings by lenders in November compared with 643 filings in November 2014, according to The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman.

The Warren Group said last week that November marked the 21st consecutive month of year-over-year, double-digit increases in petition filings.

Year to date, 10,543 petitions were filed, a 50 percent increase over the 7,027 filed in the first 11 months of 2014.

Bristol County mirrored statewide trends, with a 39 percent hike in petitions over the year in November, to 89 from 64, and a nearly 51 percent jump year to date, with 1,146 petitions filed compared with 760 during the year-ago period. •
