Foreclosure rates increase in Prov. metro in Nov.

PROVIDENCE – Foreclosure rates in the Providence-Warwick metropolitan area increased over the year by 0.07 percentage points in November to 1.76 percent, CoreLogic said Friday.
November’s rate was higher than the national foreclosure rate, which was 1.17 percent, CoreLogic said.
The Providence metro foreclosure rate did fall from October, when it was 1.81 percent.
In addition, the mortgage delinquency rate – the number of loans delinquent by 90 days or more – decreased in November, to 4.65 percent compared with 5.6 percent for the same period last year.
Again, the Providence metro’s mortgage delinquency rate was higher than the national average of 3.25 percent. However, month-over-month, it fell, as October’s delinquency rate was 4.82 percent, CoreLogic said.
